5 Megadrive Forgotten Greats
When 16 bit was the king of consoles and your teenage life was controlled by something called a D-pad. You were either a Super Nintendo kid or like me
You were all about the Sega Megadrive. Obviously Nintendo had Mario and Sega had Sonic the Hedgehog. These games are have firmly proven themselves in gaming history and that will never change, But what about those forgotten classics of the 90s gaming scene. The games you only saw while watching Games Master on T.V. or the ones you would swop with your friends at school in the playground. Well for all you 90âs gamers out there here five of my favourite played and always wanted Megadrive forgotten classics
1) Rocket Knight Adventure
Whatâs cooler than a possum wielding a sword and and jetpack.....NOTHING! Some say this was the best side scrolling Megadrive game of its time which maybe why I've heard rumours Konami may be remaking it. Maybe thereâs still hope of fulfilling my childhood dream of finally owning this game.
2) Italia 90
Mega Games 1 brought the three games on one cartridge. Super Hang on and Columns were the first two games but it was all about World Cup Italia 90 for me. Much like sensible soccer it was one of those games where you could pin point the perfect scoring point
On the pitch and score every time. I was addicted. I think my best score was Mexico 34 Germany 1 (this was also to my knowledge the first FIFA licensed game)
3) Shadow Dancer Secret of Shinobi
Shinobi is a classic but Shadow dancer had the added advantage of having a dog which you could command to attack enimies. I always wanted this game an only got to play it a few times when my friend Chris let me play it. (Iâm still annoyed with you Christ for never lending me this game! (Raises angry fist)
4) Earth Worm Jim
What happens when a worm finds a Cosmic space suit? Earth Worm Jim thats what. Using your head as a helicopter and whip whilst blasting crows and having bungy jumping fights with giant snot monsters. It was awesome, It also had its own cartoon as well which was just was fun.
5) Road Rash
This game is probably the reason I started started riding. It was a motorcycle street race game where you had to fight off other riders weilding chains clubs and your bare knuckles with out getting busted by the cops. THIS GAME NEEDS TO BE REMADE!!!!! *Cough hint*
I hope this has sparked some awesome gaming childhood memories for you guys. What are your forgotten greats? Think any of these deserve a reserection on a next Gen console or are they best left alone. Feel free to share your thoughts.
