Classic Movie Cars Go Under The Hammer

This week at Truffle Towers we've gone all 'car'azy with the exciting news that some of the most iconic retro movie cars have been sort of re-discovered and are being put up for sale!

Two of our most favouritist cars ever, the while Lotus Esprit from James Bond's The Spy Who Loved Me AAAAND the infamous Ferris Bueller based on the Ferrari 250 GT California (dreamy!), which although is a replica, still has an impressive 500 ponies in the stable to help get you down the road. Not bad eh!

This car is such a huge part of the film and anyone who has seen it (hopefully you lovely lot!), knows and loves this car. Three replicas were built in just four weeks for this film and they didn't really get treated too well as we know :/

In 2010, DJ and The One Show presenter Chris Evans paid an amazing £12m (yes...12 million!) for a genuine 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO which makes it one of the most expensive cars...EVER!

If this is perhaps a little rich for you, you can always pick up one of our official Ferris Bueller T-Shirts for only £19.99...

Known as 'Wet Nellie' on the set of the 1977 film, the story goes for the Lotus that local Long Island USA couple won a blind bid on an unclaimed storage unit, only to open it up and find this little beauty hiding within where it had been for over 10 years! HOW??! It's like Storage Wars come good!

Auctioneers say the famous Lotus Esprit was the only one made for the film and cost about £65,000 when built, the equivalent of £330,000 today. Not a cheap little toy then!

This iconic Bond car, which appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me, goes under the hammer in London in September, while the stunning Bueller car is being sold off at Pebble Beach in California in August.

So! Fancying owning one of the coolest movie cars ever? You might have to dig deep (check under the sofa etc) to get the key's but now's your chance!
