Like the twinkling fairly lights shining amongst the Christmas tree hugging tinsel, let us be the light that guides you through the weekend as we walk our way through wintery fields in search of cinematic greatness even more chilly celluloid wonder.

SATURDAY 30th NOVEMBER
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) ITV London 3:15pm-6:05pm (2 hours 50 minutes)
An orphaned boy endures a miserable childhood, until he discovers he has magical powers and enrols at a special school for young wizards. However, his suspicions are aroused by a sinister teacher who seems to be up to no good. A timid bank clerk stumbles on an ancient mask, which endows whoever wears it with untold superhuman powers, unbridled self-confidence and an irresistible charm for the ladies. Unfortunately, he earns the enmity of a local gangster for daring to flirt with his girlfriend - and when the crook gets wind of the artefact's existence, he covets the power for himself. Comic-book comedy, with Jim Carrey, Cameron Diaz, Peter Riegert and Peter Greene.

Time-travelling teenager Marty McFly is transported back to the days of the Wild West, where he strives to save his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown from death at the hands of a villainous gunslinger. Final instalment in the sci-fi comedy trilogy, starring Michael J Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen and Thomas F Wilson.
Conan the Barbarian (1982) TCM 11:05pm-1:25am (2 hours 20 minutes)
A child who grows up in slavery becomes a formidable warrior and a cunning thief. Taken prisoner by a victorious king, he is sent out to destroy the leader of the barbaric cult that destroyed his village and slaughtered his family. Fantasy adventure, based on the stories by author Robert E Howard, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Max von Sydow, James Earl Jones and Sandahl Bergman.

National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Reunion (2003) Comedy Central 1:00pm-3:00pm (2 hours )
An uptight doctor receives an invitation from some long-lost relatives to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with them on their farm. He and his family jump at the chance - but soon end up in a nightmarish situation when he realises his newly discovered kin are not all he had hoped for. A sprinter fails to qualify for the Jamaican Olympic squad, but refuses to give up his dream. A sensitive youngster writes a letter to Santa Claus asking to be taken away from his battling parents so they can rebuild their crumbling relationship - prompting a reporter and a novelist to team up and track down the troubled child. Drama, starring Peter Falk, Patricia Heaton and Isabella Fink.
Spider-Man 3 (2007) Channel 5 6:25pm-9:00pm (2 hours 35 minutes)
A sinister alien parasite brings out the web-slinging hero's darker side, filling him with thoughts of revenge on his uncle's murderer, the shape-shifting Sandman. Meanwhile, he also has to contend with the challenge of his best friend following in his father's villainous footsteps - and a jealous rival developing superpowers of his own. Superhero sequel, with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco.
