Like the twinkling fairly lights shining amongst the Christmas tree hugging tinsel, let us be the light that guides you through the weekend as we walk our way through wintery fields in search of cinematic greatness even more chilly celluloid wonder.

SATURDAY 30th NOVEMBER

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) ITV London 3:15pm-6:05pm (2 hours 50 minutes)

An orphaned boy endures a miserable childhood, until he discovers he has magical powers and enrols at a special school for young wizards. However, his suspicions are aroused by a sinister teacher who seems to be up to no good. A sensitive youngster writes a letter to Santa Claus asking to be taken away from his battling parents so they can rebuild their crumbling relationship - prompting a reporter and a novelist to team up and track down the troubled child. Drama, starring Peter Falk, Patricia Heaton and Isabella Fink.

Spider-Man 3 (2007) Channel 5 6:25pm-9:00pm (2 hours 35 minutes)

A sinister alien parasite brings out the web-slinging hero's darker side, filling him with thoughts of revenge on his uncle's murderer, the shape-shifting Sandman. Meanwhile, he also has to contend with the challenge of his best friend following in his father's villainous footsteps - and a jealous rival developing superpowers of his own. Superhero sequel, with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco.
