Hey you guys! A Goonies sequel is in the pipeline.
As all of us Goonies fans know, Goonies never say die! Well... the latest exciting news to hit TruffleShuffle HQ potentially proves just that.
All weekend, the internet and social sites alike have been abuzz with news of a potential sequel to the the cult 80's classic and one of the most loved films of our generation.
When TMZ asked Donner if he was going to direct a trendy comic book film soon, the filmmaker said, "If you call Goonies a comic book. We're doing a sequel."
Cue plenty of excitement and trepidation all at the same time.

But wait, not only will the original director be taking the reins once again, heâs also hoping that all of the original cast will come back together once more a whopping nearly 30 years on to make more movie magic. He didnât say if the sequel would pick up with the same characters nearly 30 years later, or if the original actors would make a cameo of sorts but we're guessing it's probably the latter.
Okay okay, so we're not getting our hopes up quite yet as rumours of a reboot or sequel have been circulating for as long as we can remember! Brolin revealed as recently as 2010 that a script had already been written and nothing more seemed to come from that but everything does seem to have been kicked up a gear now thanks to Donner's recent revelations.
As you can probably tell from our name (yes we are of course named after Chunk's famous dance - the Truffle Shuffle) we're pretty huge fans of the original here at www.TruffleShuffle.com. and we're kind of in two minds as to what we think about the news.
When we posted the news on our facebook page, we were hit with lots of positive AND negative feedback with many fans feeling it best to leave the classics as they are.
We totally get that but on the other hand, anything which means more people are exposed to just how legendary The Goonies is OK with us. Plus the idea of possibly seeing some of the original cast back together (even if it is only as cameo appearances) is pretty exciting. We just hope the story will do justice to the original which to be fair is a pretty huge challenge.
At the end of the day though, even if they do bodge it big style, we'll always have the original and the memories that it gave us so in our opinion, BRING IT ON!
