TruffleShuffle Insider: Meet...Lucy

Hello Truffle fans!

Ever wondered who decides what we sell? Who crafts our designs? Or even who is the person behind the warehouse Superhero title? Well this is your chance!

Always looking for new and exciting ways to give you guys as much behind the scenes peaks as possible including our Instagram (@truffleshufflecom) piccys, we've decided to go a whole hop, skip and a jump further and start up a little series of blog posts that each month will focus on a different member of the TruffleShuffle team, letting you know what they do, what makes them tick and what they're loving right now!

Kicking things off in this the very first feature, we have Lucy......

What do you do here at Truffle Towers?

I'm  in charge of seeking out and getting our hands on all the retro goodies on the site! Also making sure we have plenty available for you lovely peeps to snap up.

.

How long have you been at TruffleShuffle?

I joined TS in October 2009 so it’s been about four and a half years which has really flown by!

.

What do you like most about working here / best thing about your job?

It’s fun! Every day there are plenty of giggles and hunting down cool, retro merchandise is pretty much a dream job!

.

What is your favourite tee current on the site?

My favourite t shirt changes on an almost daily basis as new designs are launched, but right now this classic Back to The Future poster tee is top of this list! I actually have this tee and love the looser fit, rolled sleeves and vintage print!

.

When you’re not at TruffleTowers, what do you like to do?

To wind down, a nice pint of real ale in a pub garden can’t really be beaten! I also love a good gig, in the last month I’ve seen Goldfrapp, Lee Scratch Perry and Benjamin Clementine which were all top notch and as Bristol is great for music in the summer, I’m looking forward to plenty more over the coming months too! To compensate for my guilty beer pleasure, I like to practice yoga and pilates and am going to attempt the Bath half marathon next year (eeek).

.

Name three things you like….

Lazy Sundays, Black and white movies, Fluffy cats

.

Name three things you don’t like….

Driving in the snow, Mushrooms, Amusement arcades

.

Favourite three films as a kid?

Karate Kid, The Land Before Time, Mannequin

.

Who is your idol?

I don’t really have an idol as such, but I do have an enthusiastic appreciation for Jarvis Cocker

.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I’d love to go to India, I think that would be a truly enlightening and magical experience.

.

Which iconic TV/Film car would you most like to own?

Probably the Delorean, that’s pretty cool!

.

What music are you listening to at the moment?

One of my most recent purchases, Mogwai’s new album, Rave Tapes is getting a lot of playing time at the moment. I’m also really loving the Africa Express, Maison Des Jeunes and Todd Terje’s It’s Album Time.

.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?

The obvious charity, holiday, home, gifts for family and friends. I’d buy a campervan, travel around the countryside and head to some festivals. I’d buy a lovely home with a music studio and little workshop for some crafty sewing projects and a nice big garden to grow tasty vegetables and sneak in a little pizza oven too.

.

So there you have it folks! Stay tuned for plenty more staff insights and find out just who powers the TruffleShuffle machine.

See you next time with our next victim :)

xoxo
