TruffleShuffle Insider: Meet…Amy

Here it is! For those of you who haven't been following our little mini blog post series, we've been slowly but surely working our way through all the lovely names and faces of the TruffleShuffle dream team.

Taking a little time each month to put one unsuspecting victim member of staff in the spotlight, where we've been firing a whirlwind of questions at them and see what spins back out, just so you lovely lot can see just who is behind the scenes here at TruffleTowers.

This time it’s the turn of the logistical brain powerhouse Amy.... good luck! :)

What do you do here at Truffle Towers?

Where to start! As one of the original Trufflers I started as Customer Service Manager however as the business grew and Michelle (our Customer Service Guru... who's interview can be found HERE) arrived I moved on to looking after our warehouse and helping improving the website and more recently becoming a world class nag to our suppliers, chasing up deliveries and ensuring stock arrives to keep our warehouse full of goodies.

.

How long have you been at TruffleShuffle?

8 amazing years filled with fun times :)

.

What do you like most about working here / best thing about your job?

I love my job! I think one of the best things about working at Truffle Towers is our lovely TruffleShuffle family. Everyone brings something different to the team and we all get involved whether it’s opinions on new designs or getting stuck in in the warehouse during busy times.

I leave the puns and artistic input to our more creative minds but if something needs organising – I’m your girl!

.

What is your favourite item currently on the site?

At the moment I'd have to say I really love this Cinderella T-Shirt...

When you’re not at TruffleTowers, what do you like to do?

I am a member of a few local Amateur Dramatic groups so can be found rehearsing a couple of times a week for the next musical production I am in. On other evenings I like to spend time with my husband, family and friends and if this time involves dining out then it’s even better!

Name three things you like…

Food

Holidays

Animals (especially cats but my husband is allergic hates them so I am not allowed one!)

.

Name three things you don’t like….

Balloons

Needles

Cleaning my car

.

What were your favourite three films as a kid?

I didn’t really watch a lot of films or TV as a child and so since working at TruffleShuffle.com I have had a lot to learn but it’s been fun catching up! I did however love to read -  Beatrix Potter, Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton & Agatha Christie – just call me Matilda! ;-)

If I had to choose films they would be- Anything Disney, Annie and Mrs Doubtfire which is still my all-time favourite film now.

Who is your idol?

I really can’t think of anyone for this, sorry!

.

Who is the last band you saw live?

I can already hear the other Trufflers laughing at this – I don’t do gigs (is that the right word!) I do however love a good musical and the last I saw was Shrek at the Bristol Hippodrome which was brilliant!

.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Hmm tough one, a lot of my holiday dreams are animal related so I would love to visit the Orang-utans in Borneo, the Gorillas in Rwanda (this stems from another amazing film “Gorillas In The Mist”) and all the incredible wildlife found on the Galapagos Islands. Oh and I have always wanted to swim with sharks!

.

Which iconic TV/Film car would you most like to own?

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

.

What music are you listening to at the moment?

The soundtrack to Avenue Q – think Sesame Street for grownups, it’s a musical with puppets who are a little more outrageous than the lovable Elmo and Cookie Monster!

.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

Underwear Should ALWAYS Match!

.

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?

I would pay off my parent’s mortgage and send them on a lovely holiday and then I guess I could start checking off the dream holiday destinations. Perhaps buy a house big enough that my husband wouldn’t notice a cat or two hiding around the place :)

.

So there you have it folks! Stay tuned for plenty more staff insights and discover even more names and faces from inside TruffleShuffle. See you next time with our next installment!
