Just like adding the star to the top of the tree, another retro movie weekend is here to add the finishing magic touch! Packed with classic moments, iconic lines and heaps of memories, kick back and jump into some total classics.

Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie (2015) Film4 11:00am-12:45pm

The long-suffering youngster hopes his lifelong run of bad luck will come to an end when he develops a crush on a new school friend. His beloved dog has more important things to worry about, as he dreams of taking to the skies in his airborne kennel. Animated comedy, with the voices of Noah Schnapp and Bill Melendez.

Cocoon (1985) 5STAR 11:15am-1:40pm

The elderly residents of a retirement home treat themselves to an occasional dip in the pool at an abandoned house. It turns out that friendly aliens in human form are using the place to restore dormant members of their species - and energy from their cocoons is giving the old-timers a new lease of life. Ron Howard's sci-fi drama, with Wilford Brimley, Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn, Don Ameche and Steve Guttenberg.

A clumsy teenager develops superhuman powers after a genetically engineered spider bites him. At first, his fantastic skills delight him, but his elation is severely tempered by a family tragedy, prompting him to dedicate his talents to combating evil. However, he faces a baptism of fire in the form of the crazed villain the Green Goblin. Comic-book superhero adventure, with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Dafoe, James Franco and Rosemary Harris.

Three elderly couples return to Earth five years after leaving to retire on a distant planet, surprising their families, who assumed they were dead. Several of their alien friends have come back with them to recover members of their own race left behind in cocoons on the ocean floor, one of whom has been abducted by a government research institute. Sci-fi sequel, with Wilford Brimley, Don Ameche, Steve Guttenberg and Jessica Tandy.

The Karate Kid (1984) Film4 4:25pm-6:50pm

A teenager at a new school befriends a pretty girl, but her ex-boyfriend is jealous and attacks him. During one particularly bad fight, a wise old caretaker intervenes and defeats the youngster's assailants using his martial art skills. He goes on to mentor the boy and teaches him karate so he can face his enemies in a tournament. Drama, with Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Elisabeth Shue.

The adventures of the boy who never grows old, as he whisks Wendy Darling and her brothers away to the magical world of Neverland - where they come face to face with fearsome Captain Hook. A slobbish guitarist dreams of stardom, but his hopes are dashed when the other members of his band kick him out. Struggling to make ends meet, he takes a job as a supply teacher at an exclusive private school, and sets about moulding his pupils into rock gods. Comedy from director Richard Linklater, starring Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Mike White and Sarah Silverman.

High-kicking teenager Daniel accompanies his venerable mentor, Mr Miyagi, when he returns to the Japanese province of Okinawa to visit his dying father. A lonely New Yorker is rescued from drowning by a mermaid, who falls in love with him and assumes human form so she can seek him out in Manhattan. A department store executive returns from a trip to Thailand in possession of a mysterious artefact that causes him to change places with his 11-year-old son. While the horrified father struggles to cope with a world of teachers and school bullies, the youngster is revelling in the perks of being a grown-up.
