Ed Sheeran Competition Winner
We were mega excited to get our hands on a pair of tickets to an intimate Ed Sheeran gig in Bristol next week. We thought there would be a few Ed fans amongst our followers, and we were definitely right - what a great response to our competition!
Thanks a million to everyone who got involved.

The Prize
Win Exclusive Tickets to an Intimate Ed Sheeran Gig
Here at Truffle Towers we love working with a variety of worthy causes â be it sending piles of clothes to orphanages in Africa or sponsoring our local football team. Thereâs one charity weâve been really keen to support this year, and thatâs a local Bristol based charity called one25. The organisation aims to reach out to women trapped in street sex work, supporting them to break free and build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction.
One25âs outreach van goes out 5 nights a week providing food, drink and support to Bristolâs most vulnerable ladies. The charity opens its doors as a drop-in centre five days a week, providing access to much needed healthcare, support, education, laundry, clothing and shower facilities. On top of all this amazing work, one25 provides one-to-one casework support in order to individually help each and every woman wanting to make a positive change to her life.
Whatâs this about Ed Sheeran?
Sometime last year, one25âs fundraiser extraordinaire, Lu Willot contacted a little known musician going by the name of Ed Sheeran and asked if heâd be interested in supporting the charity by playing a gig in a small venue in Bristol as a thank you to the charityâs fundraisers. Not only did Ed agree to play the gig, he also got his mate Luke Concannon (best known as the front-man of Nizlopi and writer of their famous JCB Song) to play alongside him. Little did Lu know that after agreeing to this intimate Bristol performance, Ed would have four Top 10 singles, one gold, two platinum and one triple platinum!
The BRIT-nominated artist explained his reason for supporting the cause....
"It's good to show insight that these people are real people with real emotions and they deserve the same charity work as anyone else." Ed, who shot to fame when his debut single 'The A Team' went straight to number 3 in the UK chart last summer will be playing at the imtimate Bristol venue The Fleece on May 22 and as organiser Lu says.....

Ten Favourite Retro Computer Games on Ten Retro Platforms!
Some of us have been getting a touch into Call of Duty recently, but is it as satisfying and addictive as games of old? Well, to be fair, modern games are a million times better than oldschool games in so many different ways. But a little piece of us longs to be back in the day when you could do your homework whilst waiting for your Sepctrum to load (oh, and don't forget to turn the cassette over halfway through). Or show off to your mates with your very own Duck Hunt bazooka.
So, we came up with 10 blasts from the past - perhaps not the very best games around in the 80s and 90s, but these special little treats still hold dear memories in our slowly numbing fingers. I'm actually humming the California Games song whilst writing this post!
Our ten favourite uses of the Rolling Stones tongue...
In 1971, John Pasche, a budding young British artist, was commissioned by the Rolling Stones to produce a logo intended to be used as the album artwork for Sticky Fingers. After meeting Mick Jagger for the first time, Pasche was inspired to come up with the now infamous lips and tongue design by the "size of his lips and mouth". Voted in 2008 as the Greatest Band Logo of all time, and widely credited as the first 'rock brand marketing', the iconic design has been celebrated, for better or worse, in some zany ways over the past forty years. We celebrate our favourite here, and now!
The Super'est Auction in the World!
Stop what you're doing, pack an overnight bag, and get yourself on the next flight to the US of A...
The American Superhero Museum, based in Indianapolis, housed around 1,000 collectables, artefacts, props and costumes from the Superman and Batman TV shows and movies from the 1950's onwards. In 2008, the museum closed without explanation and a 2010 Court Order has demanded that the memorabilia be auctioned on January 22nd, 2011.
Some of our tips for the highest bids are original Superman costumes worn by George Reeves, Christopher Reeves and Dean Cain. We've seen similar originals selling in a memorabilia shop in Las Vegas for between £25,000 and £50,000. One of Helen Slater's original Supergirl costumes is going under the hammer, as is a replica Batboat and Batmobile - brand new replica Batmobiles are currently selling for £100,000.
So if you've got a few thousand quid burning a hole in your pocket, get yourself to Indianapolis, bid on something fun, and let us know what the cabin crew said when you flew home wearing an original Christopher Reeve £50,000 Superman costume. Alternatively, if you're planning on sailing the Batboat back home, we'll be your First Mate!!
