Truffle Shuffle are the T-Shirt Kings!!

Justin Lee Collins: How showbiz are you?

As he prepares to launch his show Heads or Tails, we sat down with Justin Lee Collins to find out exactly where on the celebometre he resides….

1. Who’s the most famous name in your mobile?

It would probably be Jamie Oliver or Mark Ronson. But my favourite name in my mobile would be the musician Richard Hawley. He’s a brilliant songwriter and although I wouldn’t say we’re friends, I would dearly love to. We did a Radio 4 programme a month or so ago and he was on it and we bonded over a pint of Guinness or two and swapped numbers. So maybe this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Name dropped AND took the opp to plug a new artist/mate. 5/5

2. What’s the most bizarre thing you’ve ever read about yourself?

Goodness me, have I read anything that’s particularly bizarre? I don’t recall reading anything in print about myself that I thought was necessarily made up, so if it was bizarre it probably came from me.
Obviously doesn’t read his own press. 0/5

3. How much is too much for a haircut?

My hair is very important to me so I would pay quite a lot to keep it in the tip top shape that we all know it’s in. £200-£300 maybe too much, but then I’d probably still pay that. I go to a salon in Bristol called Maximum FX and Sean my hairdresser is the only man I allow to touch my hair. I’ve been going to Sean since I was about 11. Well other people can touch it but they are not allowed to cut it or try and shape it in anyway, he’s the only one who has this privilege. Sean is the best so there is no amount of money I wouldn’t pay because he’s worth absolutely every penny, he’s kind of like Bristol’s Nicky Clarke.
Willing to pay £200-£300 to ‘Bristol’s Nicky Clarke’!!?! The actual Nicky Clarke would do it for that. 0/5

4. Katie Price. Friend or foe?

I wouldn’t call her a friend. Katie and Peter Andre came on the Sunday Night Project and I don’t know either of them well enough to call them friends, but I would like to be able to call Peter a friend. I think he’s a really, really lovely man and I’ve seen him quite a few times since and I always like to give him a big cuddle because I think he’s a genuinely decent guy. So between the two of them I would like to say I could call Peter a friend but I wouldn’t say I was friends with Katie Price, but then also we aren’t foes, so we are neither friend nor foe, I would say I’m quite indifferent to her to be honest.
Foe it is then. 3/5

5. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve been sent by a fan?

Unfortunately I’ve not been sent anything weird by a fan. I would dearly love to be sent bras and socks – not knickers, that’s a bit grubby, send me a bra and a nice thick pair of socks. I’ve got a problem with my socks. My friends tell me my socks are too thin, can socks be too thin on a man? So if someone wants to send me some thicker socks and a bra then I’ll be happy, but up until now no one has sent me anything weird. I get very boring mail.
0/5

6. Best party ever?

The best party ever was my auntie Lizzie’s annual boxing night Christmas party. Her husband at the time had hired a video camera for that party, so there’s a betamax videocassette in the family somewhere with Christmas 1984 recorded on it. That was a great do, I was 10.
Bonus point for betamax admission. 1/5

7. Ever used your fame to get what you want?

No I never have. I’ve never phoned up asking for anything for nothing, I’ve never phoned up to reserve a table or any of that nonsense. If I want to go out for a meal and I phone up to get a table and they tell me they are fully booked then I go somewhere else. The day I do that will also be the same day that I shoot myself in the face.
Isn’t that the whole point of being famous? 0/5

8. How much cash would it take to get you to pose in the buff?

At the moment there’s no amount of money, but in the future who knows? Believe me, if you ever see a picture of me anywhere in the buff you know that times are hard for me.
Didn’t do Dannii Minogue any harm. 0/5

9. Best freebie you ever received?

I get sent a lot of
t-shirts. There’s an online company based in Bristol called Truffle Shuffle who are the t-shirt kings so every now and again I get a nice little package of great t-shirts. I’m wearing one of their designs today, it’s the Slush Puppy dog, so that was a pretty good freebie, I love my t-shirts.
Another shameless plug for local business! 10/5

10. Ever been chatted up by another celeb?

I’m not sure if this qualifies as being chatted up but Mischa Barton guest hosted the Friday Night Project once and she asked me to escort her to the Berkeley Square Ball. Needless to say I didn’t really have anything to wear so I couldn’t go. It still keeps me awake at night. I don’t know if that was a chat up as such or whether she just needed someone to go with.
He turned down a date with Mischa?! 10/5

Score: 29/50
What can we say? It seems despite refusing to get his kit off for our entertainment, declaring the best party he’s ever attended was when he was 10 and shamelessly plugging local businesses for free, JLC is more showbiz than not (just), although he really needs to work on his ‘don’t you know who I am?’ mantra. Still, at least we know why Mischa went off the rails.

Thanks to Matthew Bagwell for the interview.

Dirty Dancing film star Patrick Swayze has died.

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the classic, Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing film star Patrick Swayze has died aged 57.

He had been battling pancreatic cancer for nearly two years and died with family at his side on Monday.
Jennifer Grey, who co-starred with Swayze in Dirty Dancing, said in a statement: “Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. Gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart.
“He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified.”

Rob Lowe, who played in a number of films with Swayze, said: “Patrick lived a thousand lifetimes in one lifetime. He was an expert dancer, he wrote hit songs, he starred in hit movies, he was an amazing horseman.
“But the thing I will remember him most for was his amazing love affair with his wife Lisa.”
Demi Moore has also paid tribute to her co-star in the hit film Ghost, saying: “Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives.”
She added: “I love and will miss you Patrick.”

TEST

With 2018 well and truly kick-off and our first taste of the movie coolness already with Early Man, Maze Runner: The Death Cure and more, we thought we would take some time to look ahead and see just what other gems we have coming out way.

With plenty to look forward to, check out our top movie picks for 2018 peeps!

Ready Player One

Taking the literary world by storm in 2011, Ready Player One will now enter a whole new realm as it becomes a big budget movie that looks as epic as we could have hoped! Co-produced/directed by the mighty Steven Spielberg and written by Zak Penn (The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men: The Last Stand) and original novel writer Ernest Cline, it’s not hard to see just why there is such a buzz around this release. So what’s it all about?

Set in the year 2044, the story kicks off when the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, but leaving behind a video where he challenges users of OASIS to hunt and find his hidden Easter Egg which will reward them with all of his vast fortunes. Our main character Wade Watts finds himself with the first clue and the race is now on!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

*claps hands frantically* More Jurassic Park action! When Universal decided to pick up the action again with Jurassic World back in 2015, it was safe to say… we lost our minds! Sure, revamping classic 80s and 90s films is a bit of a cheap trick these days with so many licences getting a face-lift into the new millennium, often it never quite hits the mark but we can sure make an exception with these latest dino comebacks!

So why are they going back? Four years after the last instalment, Owen and Claire return to Isla Nubar to attempt to rescue the dinosaurs. Rescue them?! Yep, turns out a T-Rex is no match for mother nature when their very existence is threatened (again… can’t catch a break right?) buy a volcano on the island. Jurassic Park TShirts at the ready and hold on tight peeps!

Solo: A Star Wars Story

As huge Star Wars nerds, it’s safe to say we’re pretty pumped for all these new Disney movies! There was some doubt, admittedly, but they have come soooo good. Up next in the Star Wars movie empire we will have Solo: A Star Wars Story which will follow our hero Han through some twists, turns and adventures and we can even see when he and Chewie meet!

Directed by the mighty Ron Howard, this is shaping up to be another cracker so stay tuned for lot’s more Sci-Fy action gang! Pick up your Star Wars TShirts here folks.

Black Panther

Don’t panic peeps, 2018 has PLENTY of superhero action to get stuck into including some all-new action from Black Panther. Marvel Studios are back once more with some new action which is shaping up to be something pretty special.

Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. the boat is quickly rocked when a powerful enemy threatens his place at the top and he must fight to defend his title, family and civilisation with his amazing skills and weaponry. This doesn’t look like a lazy Sunday afternoon movie guys and gals.

Avengers: Infinity War

When Thanos threatens the very fate of the Earth… and the galaxy on his search for the six Infinity Stones to gain unimaginable power, the dream team that is The Avengers assemble to take him down and save the day once more. So who’s in the line up this time? You will get the chance to see Black Panther, Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, Loki, Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Ant-Man and Falcon. You didn’t dream that list, it’s true!

Deadpool 2

He’s back! When Deadpool came out back in 2016, we were simply blown away by it! The action was out of this world, the casting was spot on and the comedy…. well the comedy was of the charts! Naturally, even before the credits started rolling for Deadpool 1, we were crying out for Deadpool 2 and it seems the wait is nearly up. Deadpool being Deadpool, there is very little actual facts around and the more you read, the more of the movies humour seeps through the early releases and press work. Honestly , they are so committed to this it’s unreal which only makes us love it even more! It feels like Deadpool is so much more than a character, it’s a way of life, was way of thinking and we just can’t wait to see more of him.

Tomb Raider

If like us you grew up planing the iconic early Tomb Raider games on PC and console, you’re pretty much chomping at the bit to see the latest movie adaptation of this classic. Starring the fantastic Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, it looks like Lara is in for a rough ride with a much more rugged approach this time. Set for UK release on the 16th of March, we will be sure to grab our tickets early and be banging at the door to get in.

So there you have them folks! Plenty of epic movieness coming our way this year for us to get our teeth sunk into.

What are you most looking forward to seeing? Let us know below.
