Wakka-Wakka-Wakka, Here comes Pac-Man!

Being a massive fan of old skool gaming I am very excited to unveil a new range of giftware featuring Pac-Man, everyone’s favourite ghost-gobbling, pill-guzzling, motor mouth!

I’m a huge fan of the all time classic arcade game and always used to get super excited whenever I would see the Pac-Man booth in the arcades, it was always the best way to spend my ten pence pieces!  An interesting fact for you (possibly nicked from the Scott Pilgrim film...) is that Pac-Man was originally called Puck-Man, this comes from the Japanese phrase ‘Paku-Paku’ which means to flap one’s mouth open and closed.  There you go, you learn something new every day!

I know it’s a little bit early to talk about as these gifts are going to be added throughout the next month, but I am really pleased to be able to show you what great things there are to look forward to.  With products ranging from bottle openers to soap on a rope there’s something for everyone!  Here’s a rundown of what’s due.

Shaped just like the Pac-Man character with his distinctive eyes and open mouth, the Pac-Man Bottle Opener is guaranteed to be a conversation starter at any party. His distinctive yellow body and black eyes and mouth means he’ll really stand out in your kitchen drawer. However, you probably won’t want to hide him away so two small magnets have been incorporated onto the back of the bottle opener allowing him to be attached conveniently to your fridge door. The presence of the two magnets also means bottle tops stick to the magnets once opened rather than being thrown on the floor, allowing them to be disposed off tidily.

The perfect gift for any stressed out video game enthusiast or retro collector. Can't finish that super hard level? Give Pac-Man a squeeze, we're sure he'll help!

Spotted - Our Who The F**k Is Mick Jagger T-Shirt in Maroon 5's New Video

Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine has become the latest rock n roll icon to wear the iconic Men's Who The Fuck Is Mick Jagger T-Shirt from Worn By in their new video, Moves Like Jagger.

Keith Richards first donned this provocative t-shirt in 1975 for the Rolling Stones Tour of the Americas and Mick's stylist Pierre Laroche also wore the t-shirt on the same tour so it's now become something of a legend and the perfect fit for Maroon 5's new Jagger tribute tune.

The Jonas Åkerlund-directed vid  opens with classic footage of Jagger, during which a reporter asks the iconic Rolling Stones frontman how long he plans to make music.

"I don't know. I never thought I'd be doing it for two years even," a young Jagger says, as the opening whistles of the Maroon 5 song kick in, throughout which a slew of Jagger look-alikes are shown dancing up to a central microphone, interlaced with archival footage of Jagger himself and shots of band members James Valentine, Jesse Carmichael, Michael Madden and Matt Flynn rocking out on their instruments.

Check it out below and keep your eyes peeled for our Who The Fuck Is Mick Jagger T-Shirt Levine and several extras sport at various moments in the clip.....

Minnie Mawi Looking Fabulous At London Fashion Week!

Claire and I were very lucky darlings indeed last Friday when we crossed the West-East divide, teetering our way over to London hot on the heels of the fash pack on route to London Fashion Week. After a quick stop off at the Chaser LA showrooms, where we saw some pretty amazing new collections due over the coming months and new year (keep your eyes peeled) we headed over to the Strand and Somerset House. We have been drooling over the Minnie Mawi collection for Disney Couture over the past couple of weeks here at Truffle Towers so it was very exciting to go and see all the stunning up and coming pieces at the Fashion Week exhibition. We were met by the lovely Sandra and Lisette, who looked very at home in the uber fashionable surroundings. I managed to get a few snaps whilst I was there...

After taking a tour around, seeing some stunning new brands showcasing their latest collections, stopping for coffees and people watching, I scampered off, Hoxton-bound for some fun times and slightly dodgy 90's rave dancing flaunting my new favourite thing, my Ivory Pearl Minnie Mawi Bib Necklace!

Kick off your Sunday Shoes!

With Footloose hitting our cinemas (for the second time!) next month, it only seemed fair that we watch the original again in preparation. We had forgotten just how amazing it is!

What will be the outcome with the remake!? As always – the TruffleShuffle office is split. Some of us are wishing they would leave our classic movies alone – with others being quite excited to see the modern take on such an old hit.

Back in 1984 – Footloose introduced us to Kevin Bacon – bringing him into a small town where dancing had been outlawed. His character Ren, a city boy – falls in love with the daughter of a preacher (who actually instituted the ban!) and together – the two lovers cause havoc throughout the town.

With some cheese filled scenes like this - it’s no real surprise that it reached the list of top 80's Movies!

The remake has been in the works since 2008 – first of all ‘heartthrob’ Zac Efron was in line to fill the dancing shoes of Bacon, however Kenny Wormald is now playing the lead roll. Like Kevin Bacon in ‘84, he hasn’t really been in any major productions – so hopefully this will be a good time to shine and woo the critics. The rest of the cast seems pretty impressive, with Dennis Quaid playing the strict Preacher.

We’ve included the trailer for the 2011 film......let us know what you think?

As a TruffleShuffle night out - we will definitely be checking out the film, and most DEFINITELY rocking one of these awesome t-shirts!

Return to the Goblin City, our new Labyrinth collection!

It’s been an exciting week here at Truffle Towers, mainly thanks to the long awaited launch of our brand new, official and exclusive range of Labyrinth T-shirts. It’s something we’ve wanted to be able to represent on the site for what feels like years so getting the opportunity to work closely with the amazing Jim Henson Company to create our very own tribute range has been totally awesome in every way. We’ve been tweaking and perfecting this collection over the last few months so it’s been such a great feeling to finally unleash the tees to all you TruffleShufflers and we are so happy with the fantastic response they’ve all received!

As one of the designers of the range, it was a great experience to return to the fantastical world of the Goblin City and really get under the skin of one of the all-time ultimate 80’s classics! We started with David Bowie and his genius turn as the Goblin King Jareth and we were of course inspired by his outrageous fashion (those skin tight leggings made a particularly big impression…) and the ultra catchy song from the film (Dance Magic Dance!). After playing with lots of ideas, we plumped for a really cool flyer style design for what would clearly be the coolest club night in the world! Check it out below….

We also had to feature Ludo, the bumbling best friend we wish we all had, and of course that cute cheeky worm who was always around to say “Ello!”

Although we knew you guys loved the worm as much as we did, even we were surprised by just how much – this design pretty much sold out after 24 hours on the site and has even been snapped up by the fabulous Una Healy from The Saturdays who even tweeted a pic of her wearing it!
