A Corrie Encounter!

This Tuesday our intrepid Buyer, Lucy and Digital Marketing Guru, Si boarded a heavily laden (with amazingly cool tees) motor and headed up to Manchester for the Lipsy retreat. A few long, diverted through country lanes miles later we arrived at the rather glam looking Great John Street Hotel. Right opposite the ITV Granada Studios, we could just about spot the red brick Chimneys of Coronation Street peeping through the gates and as we passed through the herd of paparazzi and into the main doors, we have to admit we felt a little bit like minor celebrities ourselves!

Upon arrival, we met the exuberant and gorgeous Katie, our PR agent extraordinaire who was ready and waiting with huge smiles to get our fabulous merchandise displayed for the occasion. The Lipsy retreat brings together a whole host of fab brands, giving us a chance to meet our celeb fans in the flesh! We had tons of fun and managed to get a few great pics of the day.

Time to RELAX!

So spring is finally here and for us fashionista’s that can only mean one thing: Spring wardrobe!

We’ve had the odd miserable day but the sun has come out and we’re ready to play. Finally, we can ditch our chunky knits for light layering and swap our hats and scarves for sunglasses.

The best thing about the sunshine is when you’re stuck for something to wear just follow the advice of those Jersey Shore boys from MTV (ahem) and opt for “T-shirt time!”

Yes, the t-shirt is a vital addition to any spring/summer wardrobe; in fact there isn’t any day of the year where you cannot wear a tee. I’m not just talking about any t-shirts- oh no, I’m talking about those bad boy tees at TruffleShuffle.com

Frankie Says Relax T Shirt

One of my favourite t-shirts from the website is this Frankie Says Relax tee, a steal at £20.00. This iconic tee is a wardrobe must have! With the sun out, I wasted no time in putting on my shades and trying to take Frankie’s advice by relaxing in front of the camera.

For my spring outfit I wore my t-shirt with one of the hottest colours of this season- cinnamon. The dark denim shirt compliments the two colours well and makes a light cover up instead of a jacket or cardigan. To finish off my outfit I simply added some mirrored aviators, my Keds and my brand new but totally retro Casio watch.

Stone Roses give their approval to their hit Fools Gold being sampled by Wretch 32

Grime artist Wretch 32 has used the bassline from The Stone Roses’ 1989 classic, Fools Gold on his new single Unorthodox and King Monkey Ian Brown has given it his royal seal of approval.

Set to be a Summer smash, The Sun say 'North Londoner Wretch explained his joy at Brown giving the all clear to sample Fool's Gold revealing that the indie icon had given the nod to his song. The track, which features fellow rapper Example, is a surprising use of the 90s hit but it works really well with an infectious chorus guaranteed to make it an anthem.'

Check out the new version HERE and let us know what you think. Does it even come close to the original or is it an improvement in your opinion? Gotta admit, it does kind of get stuck in your head but then that's most probably thanks to The Stone Roses influence!

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?

I was asked just that by trade magazine Womenswear Buyer WWB this month and after much thought and a little help from the office girlies, plumped for Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry.

Why? Well she'd be flashy, feisty and (we imagine) fabulous fun. Ideally she’d turn up in one of her iconic 80’s outfits, complete with two tone blonde hair and armed with a karaoke machine.

New styles we're loving this week!

We're always adding shedloads of awesome new stuff to the site but here's a few of our favourites from this week....

With only 25 days to go to THE BIG DAY, we're starting to get pretty excited about the impending Royal Wedding and our new fit for a Princess, Little Miss tee is the perfect way to welcome the celebrations. With sparkly blue jewels on her golden crown, Little Miss Princess is the latest addition to the classic series of children's stories, created by Adam Hargreaves in time for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Our exclusive tee features a shot of her in all her royal glory making it perfect for any fellow princesses in waiting! Click the pic to find out more...

Ladies Little Miss Princess T-Shirt £24.99 +£1.95 P&P

This unmistakeable Kiss tee from Amplified is definitely a stand out design from their Spring Summer collection.  Featuring a cracking shot of Kiss frontman, Gene Simmons complete of course with his trademark facepaint, we think this Lick It Up tee is a future Amplified classic. Click the pic to buy.

If TruffleShuffle did cameras.........

Oh wait, we do! This is no ordinary bit of kit though. Built completely from LEGO bricks, it can’t be taken apart but bricks can be added to the top or bottom of the camera so you can dig out your old toy box and start putting those boxes of lego back into use. Perfect for us grown ups who can still smell those little plastics bricks as if we were ten years old, kids will obviously love it too making it perfect for their first foray into the world of photography. Let's be clear, this is no toy though; it’s a full functioning 3 Megapixel digital camera, featuring a color 1.5” LCD screen.  It takes high quality photos with the built-in flash, fixed focus and digital zoom and  holds up to 80 photos at a time. Prepare for the nods of approval when you get this out and start snapping away.....
