My Turn! My Turn!
Mayhem has set in at Truffle Towers this week as us shufflers scramble for our controllers for some seriously old school, retro, and awesomely classic games. Who cares about growing up?!
Brushing the cobwebs aside from our Nintendo NES, Atari, N 64, Sega Master System and the like, TruffleShuffle is reliving the good old days of our mis-spent childhoods with some finger numbing sessions on everyoneâs favourite retro video games. Top of our list, of course, itâs the plucky little Italian we have all come to love, King of retro games....Mario! There is no better way to while away the hours than in the world of Mario and his brother Luigi, ducking and diving, level after level, in evermore risky situations. Mama Mia!!
For those who like us never made it to the end, this is how it should be done:
If youâre as mad on it as us, take a sneaky look into what we are all wearing and rocking to show our love for retro games here
The shufflers were subjected to a little poll and asked for their top 5 retro games. The votes are in, check them out below! Do you agree, have we missed anything? Let us know your comments!!!
1. Super Mario
2. Sonic
3. Paper Boy
4. Lemmings
5. Street Fighter
Of course, retro games wouldnât be the same without their iconic âstick in your headâ soundtracks. Weâve been scouring the web to find other peoples takes on such classics, hereâs one for you guys:
Also, a few interesting, but useless facts for today:Mario was originally known as Jumpman. However, when Nintendo's US office were trying to think of a better name in time for the American release of the game, they were interrupted by their landlord Mario Segale, after whom they christened the character.A Q Score survey in the early nineties revealed that Mario was more recognisable to American children than Mickey Mouse!Have a great weekend!
You know you were an 80′s child when…
Ferris Buellers’ Back in Town!
Hysteria has struck the Truffle Towers as we are frantically preparing for tonightâs blast from the past showing of legendary, uber cool, awesomely retro flick....âFerris Buellerâs Day Offâ on E4.
Now, for the unlucky lot who have not yet seen this marvel, we thought weâd prepare a little sneaky glimpse into the world of Bueller.
This classic 80âs high-school flick follows the truly epic adventure of cool cat Ferris, his girlfriend Sloane, and more hesitant best buddy Cameron as they embark on a monumental and very eventful skive from high-school, though the streets of Chicago.
Starring the young and laid back to the extreme, Matt Broderick as âthe guy everyone wanted to beâ, the legend... Ferris Bueller, this film follows one dayâs antics, giving us a glimpse into the life of a guy living life to the full.
We thought we would share with you a few of our favourite moments from Ferris:
Possibly the most memorable scene of the film for us at Truffle Shuffle, Ferris entertains Chicago with The Beatles classic âTwist and Shoutâ. Gets us in the party spirit every time.
Music lovers, you are in for a treat!
We are very excited that this hotly anticipated range of official NME t-shirts is now available at TruffleShuffle! Weâre thrilled to have worked with all involved to create such a fantastic range of T-shirts for music fans." With a choice of The Clash, Kurt Cobain, Ian Curtis (of Joy Division) and the Stone Roses, this is one rocking collection!
Happy Birthday Wizard of Oz, 71yrs old Today!!!

Its an oldie but most definitely a goodie, breaking the barriers in full technicolour with a wicked cast and amazing sound track! We would like to welcome you to TruffleShuffle land to check out our nostalgic Wizard of Oz beauties, 'Ding Dong'!
