|It finally happened! The special moment we’ve all been waiting for since this iconic show sadly came to and end back in 1993 (eek!) finally came true!
That’s right, our childhood heroes got back together once more to appear on last Wednesday’s The Tonight Show for a special one off appearance with host Jimmy Fallon.
|Taking stage we saw quite a few unchanged faces including A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez), Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen), Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) and even Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins)!
The guys returned back to the corridors of Bayside High for an 8 minute long sketch which saw them with their new friend Jimmy who later reveals he will be moving away to peruse his dream job of hosting his own show (Saturday Night Live) and Kelly reveals she’s expecting Zack’s baby! It’s all go and all with a signature Zack Time Out!
The cast went on to joke about their careers after the hit series. Zack told Slater he should “be on Dancing With the Dweebs.” (Lopez placed second on the third season of Dancing With the Stars.) Back to their old tricks!
Enough talking…go see for yourself! Check out the action below…
|After seeing this, there’s no denying that these guys have still got in and look as every bit as cool now as they did back in the day.
What do you guys think? Would you love to see more from these guys?
Why not relive the iconic show and characters every day with our huge range of exclusive Saved By The Bell Merchandise only at Truffleshuffle.co.uk. See you there!
|For some of us it doesn’t seem so long ago when Top of the Pops was overrun with Britpop bands, you had your hair cut like Rachel from Friends and Saturday night TV was about watching celebrities getting gunged. But believe it or not, enough time has passed for the 90s style to come swinging in with full neon glory back into fashion again.
|As we all know with this decade, this is tricky territory, as a step too far can turn you into Edina from Ab Fab. So whether you were watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers or Men Behaving Badly at the time, here are some fashion icons of the era you should be taking notice of if you want to get the 90s revival look right. Enjoy!|
|Starting with the ultimate 90s fashion icon, Cher from 90s smash hit Clueless. The most popular girl in Bronson Alcott High School, she had the lifestyle, the attitude and was always perfectly dressed for the occasion – with the help of some awesome virtual wardrobe software that I still to this day wish I had. This summer, if you’re going to rock the 90s revival look, channel Cher and go for cute matching two piece suits for the office and a strappy top worn over a t-shirt for the gym.
|If you’re a guy you have it easy, because Will Smith during his time starring in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air is a one-man 90s fashion guide. If you’re not sporting a snapback cap and a ludicrously bright t-shirt you are most certainly not Da Bomb. This look may be a little tricky to carry off, but as long as you’re prepared to muck about with your mates, have fun and still be morally correct in the face of a sticky situation, then it’ll work for you – it worked for Will!
|Back when Gwen Stafani was still known as ‘that hot singer in No Doubt’, her carefree hippie-grunge attire made her even more popular for her leading fashion sense, on top of her singing talent. Take inspiration from Gwen by mixing and matching cultural styles by donning a crop top, a sari style skirt and wearing your hair up in multiple knots. If you get it right you’ll be an ultra cool summer babe, but beware of the accidental mono-brow effect bindi abuse can cause.
|I’m not condoning all of Clarissa’s looks, but Clarissa Explains It All pretty much showcased the whole spectrum of 90s fashion female and male (look up her best bud Sam Anders). So choose carefully from some of Clarissa’s many styles, most of all various quirky choker pendants, Dr. Martin boots, dinosaur earrings and shirts over strappy tops. Especially if you can source a gem like this Lichtenstein-esque cartoon strip patterned shirt.
|The Spice Girls deserve honourable mention. Being a huge influence of the times they went through many phases in fashion. In my opinion the best thing they brought us was the platform trainer. This love child of a PE trainer and a corrective shoe was made popular by the girl group in the 90s ensuring anyone brave enough to don this fashion accessory an embarrassing tumble at the school disco.
|This year’s take on the casual platform transform sneakers, DM style boots and even jellies into platforms. You’ll be uber cool if you’re seen wearing them, just watch your step!
|Finally, Kelly Kapowski was the most popular character in Saved By The Bell. Girls wanted to be her and guys wanted to be with her. She rocked the bralet and jacket combo, she owned matching floral crop top and trousers look and nailed the knotted t-shirt.
|Although my personal favourite was Lisa Turtle who was always immaculately dressed and, let’s face it, was less flaunty. So what if Kelly got Zach Morris? Lisa was fighting off the boys, even if that was mostly Screech…|
|This is an exciting time for those of us who grew up in the 90s as we’ll finally get the chance to wear all the things our pocket money wouldn’t stretch to, or our mothers wouldn’t let us go out in. Who knows, maybe my VHS collection will be worth something and turkey dinosaurs will become a delicacy. We can only hope.|

Hehe, this is funny…
Happy Birthday Saved By the Bell, 24 years old today (from the first episode in 1989)! Let’s all have a boogie in it’s honour!
We’re in full on nostalgia mode at TruffleShuffle Towers after the arrival of these fantastic Saved By The Bell T-Shirts, inspired by the awesomely 90s opening titles this design is a real retro treat. Combined with our best selling Class of 93 and Bayside Tigers T-Shirts we’ve got all bases covered for any Saved by the Bell fan!
Inspired by our recent arrivals we’ve gone into full on detective mode to find out what the actors of our favourite classmates have been up to since graduating from Bayside High.
Zack Morris (played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar) was a charming slacker who’s on and off relationship with Kelly Kapowski kept us all glued to our screens. Seen as the leader of the gang, his clean-cut looks made him the popular poster boy of Saved by the Bell.
Since the show ended Mark-Paul has carried on acting and gone on to star in other shows, most popular of which was NYPD Blue which he featured in from 2001 to 2005. He is currently one of the main stars in a show called Franklin and Bash alongside another of our retro favourites Breckin Meyer, who played Travis in Clueless!
The show which is described as Ally McBeal with Balls features the duo as unconventional lawyers and has just been renewed for a third series.
Kelly Kapowski (played by Tiffani Thiessen) was many a schoolboy crush, including many of the guys in the office! She played the most popular girl in school and was head cheerleader and captain of the volleyball, swim and softball teams. She was the love interest of Zack and their characters even got married in Las Vegas in a special show.
Straight after Saved by the Bell ended Tiffani went straight into cult show Beverley Hills 90210 as the character Valerie Malone, she stayed there for four years from 1994 – 1998. Since then Tiffani has featured in many TV shows and films and has currently been starring in the show White Collar, a show about an FBI agents unconventional working partnership with a con-man, since 2009 to the present day.
A.C. Slater (played by Mario Lopez) was the hunky jock with the sexy curly mullet who excelled in sports. He was the schools star athlete being both a wrestler and quarterback of the football team, his friendship with Zack bought much of the fun and laughter to the show!
Recently Mario has been showing off his TV presenting skills as he co-hosted the X Factor in America alongside Khloe Kardashian, but has also been the host on shows such as America’s Best Dance Crew and Extras. He even took part in the third series of Dancing with the Stars and came a respectable second place!
Screech (played by Dustin Diamond) was seen as the geek of the group, he was very clever but his lack of common sense and social skills provided frustration with the gang but, luckily for us, a lot of classic comedy moments!
Dustin has had the most turbulent time since leaving the show, publishing a book of the inside story of Saved by the Bell where he painted an unflattering image of many of his co-stars and went into details of his sordid backstage behaviour. He’s a bit of a fan of the ladies and even released a sex tape, far removed from the uber-geek he played on Saved by the Bell!
He has also featured in reality shows such as Celebrity Fit Club and Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling. He played bass in a band called Salty the Pocketknife and even tries out the odd bit of stand up comedy!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this catch up with Saved by the Bells finest, and to finish off our nostalgia fest I’m off to watch a couple of episodes! All together now… “When I wake up in the morning and the alarm gives out a warning, I don’t think I’ll ever make it on time…”
When it comes to shows from our childhood’s, Saved By The Bell has to be one of our favourites and so imagine the excitement at Truffle Towers this morning when we heard about a possible reunion show!
Yes that’s right, you heard us – rumour has it that the old gang could once again grace our screens after Mark-Paul Gosselaar — the artist formerly known as Saved by the Bell’s Zack Morris said he is willing to return to Bayside High School.
Dennis Haskings AKA Principle Belding has previously said “I have always supported a reunion of any kind including all of us. Honestly, the fans still love us and our show so much … they deserve it!”
What do you think about Mark-Paul Gosselaar comments? Would you watch a “Saved By the Bell” reunion or would you prefer there to be a spin-off? We would so love this to actually happen and see what Kelly, Jessie, Lisa, Zack, A.C Slater and of course Screech have been getting up to since we last saw them in 1993!
So it’s just Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley and Mario Lopez that need to agree now and it could happen – what are our chances?!
We are going to sit and watch re-runs and pray to the retro gods that this happens, all while sporting our latest Saved By The Bell T-Shirts while we wait…………
