An all-American family adopts a huge St Bernard, but the father is dismayed when it turns into a one-dog disaster zone. He insists the mutt must go to a new home, but when it is kidnapped by a crooked vet, dad has a change of heart and races to the rescue. Commandant Lassard comes to the conclusion that his staff are overworked, so in an attempt to solve the problem, he assigns the clueless cops to teach a group of equally inept civilians how to combat crime. Cheeky eight-year-old Alex Pruitt is delighted to be given a remote-controlled toy car by his neighbour - unaware it contains a stolen microchip. A gang of crooks heads to Alex's town with the intention of recovering the valuable item, but the resourceful youngster has prepared for their arrival with a series of nasty booby-traps. Comedy sequel, starring Alex D Linz, Olek Krupa, Rya Kihlstedt and Lenny von Dohlen.

A leaky boat leaves the precocious youngsters stranded on a jungle island, but their luck changes when explorers the Wild Thornberrys come to their rescue. However, Thornberry dad Nigel loses his memory, so it falls to his daughter Eliza to save the day. Children's animated adventure, with the voices of Nancy Cartwright, Bruce Willis, Lacey Chabert, Elizabeth Daily and Tim Curry.

An expedition to find King Solomon's diamond mines in the jungles of the Congo disappears without a trace. The tycoon behind the mission sends his assistant, a former CIA agent, to find out what became of the explorers - only to discover that the party met a grisly fate at the hands of a horde of vicious apes. Action-adventure based on Michael Crichton's novel, with Dylan Walsh, Laura Linney, Tim Curry and Grant Heslov.

Live-action and animated comedy, with Brendan Fraser, Steve Martin, Timothy Dalton and Jenna Elfman.

A married couple from Chicago decide to steer clear of the usual festive celebrations and keep their cash for a holiday in the sun, prompting a busybody neighbour to call on the local community to pull out all the stops to make them change their minds. A festive comedy based on a novel by John Grisham, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Tim Allen, Dan Aykroyd and M Emmet Walsh.

A devastating explosion in the New Jersey Tunnel causes a horrific pile-up, trapping a group of motorists underground. A former emergency worker witnesses the blast and heads in to guide the handful of survivors to safety before the waters of the Hudson river above them break through and flood the tunnel. Disaster movie, starring Sylvester Stallone, Amy Brenneman, Viggo Mortensen, Dan Hedaya and Claire Bloom.

The lucky little tots embark on a trip to a French theme park - but while the rest of the gang are intent on enjoying themselves, Chuckie is distracted by his wish for a new mum. He sets his sights on the owner of the amusement park as a prospective partner for his single dad. The plucky sea creature sets out to prove his boss Mr Krabs is innocent of stealing Neptune's crown. However, the missing item has ended up in sinister Shell City, which all sea-dwellers fear and from which few have ever returned. Animated comedy, with the voices of Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Clancy Brown and Scarlett Johansson, plus a cameo appearance by David Hasselhoff.
