That’s right folks today is the big day!
Yep World Book Day is once again here for the 17th year and is looking bigger and better than ever with some amazing initiatives and ideas to get as many people reading and loving book including some total classics. _
So what’s World Book Day you ask?
World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide effort, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. Wowzers!
The main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage kids all over to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own by sending schools packs of Book Tokens.
As part of this, schools and kids everywhere go all out and dress up for the day as their favourite characters and take part in some fun school activities.
This year we’re celebrating in style (sadly not by dressing up) with our very own offer for you lovely peeps.
