Spooky couple Gomez and Morticia hire a nanny to look after their new baby son - and stop him from suffering an early death at the hands of his jealous elder siblings. Romance soon blossoms between the new childminder and Uncle Fester, but he does not realise she is planning to kill him once she has got hold of the family fortune. Comedy sequel, starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd, Christina Ricci and Joan Cusack.

A boy has to fend for himself when he is accidentally left behind after his family jets off to Paris for Christmas. The youngster initially enjoys his freedom but is soon forced to resort to ingenious booby traps to defend the family home from two dim-witted burglars. Comedy, starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, Catherine O'Hara and John Candy.

A pioneering scientist takes his family out into space to colonise another planet. However, a saboteur has infiltrated their craft, and his meddling leaves them stranded in unknown territory on the other side of the galaxy. Sci-fi adventure based on the 1960s TV show, starring William Hurt, Matt LeBlanc, Gary Oldman, Mimi Rogers and Heather Graham.

A teenager wishes her baby brother would be taken away, only to have her request granted by a band of goblins and their sinister king. She regrets her decision and sets out to rescue him, but to reach the castle where he is being held, she must find her way through a magical maze full of strange creatures. Jim Henson's fantasy adventure, starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie.

Can't wait to join Jack Black once again in this rocking tale.

Men in Black: International (2019)

One not to forget in a flash (see what we did there?), 2019 saw the release of another instalment of this now retro tale. This time, donning the dark suits are Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson as they battle to uncover a trailer working on the inside of the MIB to prevent an alien invasion. Sure

This sure packs a punch and is ideal for a movie night in.

The Weekly Retro Movie Rundown 195

The the beard of Zeus! It's only another retro movie filled weekend!

Like a keen and very armature paintball team who are geared up and ready to rumble, we find ourselves faced with another round of adrenaline fuelled mayhem. Firing out what can only be described as a flood of paintballs at anything that moves and plenty of things that don't, we'll run, jump and hide our way to victory like many action movie heroes before us.
