I got sent this picture on Facebook the other day as I was wasting away my Sunday with the hope of someone turning up at my door with a hot Roast dinner in hand to cure my hangover.
It made me laugh as it’s an awesome idea for a tattoo and in an absolutely perfect position but it got me thinking, just how far are my fellow tat fans prepared to go to show their love for their ultimate pop culture icons?
I didn’t have to look hard – appears there are a whole host of fellow nostalgia fans out there who will go pretty damn far in their quest to show their appreciation for all things old school. Here’s a few of my favourites.
This full sleeve is made up mostly of Nintendo characters with Megatron randomly chucked in (apparently he was there before the owner of said tattoo decided to go all out with a full sleeve.) Not being a Mario fan as a kid, I guess I always wanted Megatron to turn up at Bowsers castle and show Mario how you start a ruckus so this definitely floats my boat.
The awesomeness that is the Muppets band in tattoo form – the colours are awesome.
This guy must have totally crossed the streams to get this sick Leg tattoo inspired by the Ghostbusters movie. The detail is unreal.
This leg tattoo pays homage to one of my favourite 80’s movies, Labyrinth. I always thought I was a pretty major Labyrinth fan, now I just feel lame!
And it’s not just the boys getting in on the action..
Yes – this brave lady has just about the entire Alice in Wonderland story inked across the upper half of her body. Now that’s dedication!
It really does look like his skin has been torn off reveling his inner Superhero. A tat too far me thinks although maximum respect for having the balls to pay tribute to Spidey in such a dramatic way!
Let us know if this has got you emptying your bank account and booking in for a full body Spider-man costume tattoo, we’ll definitely want to hear about it.

We’ve got to admit, we’ll most probably be suckered into buying this, mainly for the never seen before extras (even though we already seem to have A LOT of Star Wars Movies in our DVD collection) but how about our fellow Star Wars fans?
And on the subject of Star Wars Merchandise, we may be biased but if you’re looking for a T-Shirt to wear whilst watching your new box-set, you can’t go far wrong with our huge selection which you can check out here including the likes of these little galactic gems…
Oh and don’t forget, we don’t JUST do T-Shirts! Check our collection of Star Wars gifts, gadgets and goodies here! I mean, who wouldn’t want a Darth Vader Projection Alarm Clock which not only projects the time onto your wall but also comes complete with creepy Darth Vader breathing sounds! 🙂
Star Wars and Call of Duty fans will love this unofficial mod which turns your PC copy of Modern Warfare into an epic game of galactic battling. In development since 2009, it’s called Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare, and is the product of a team of German coders called BlackMonkeys. Check out the video trailer below for a sneaky peek of what to expect….
As The Guardian reports, It’s a total conversion so all the environments, weapons and characters have been re-skinned to fit within the Star Wars universe. Players can choose to become troopers in the Imperial Forces or soldiers of the Rebel Alliance, before scrapping it out over seven maps including Mos Eisley, Bespin and Jundland. Of course, as it’s a mod, you’ll need the PC version of CoD: Modern Warfare, but if you already own the game, you have little excuse not to download, install and start deathmatching on the deadly sands of Tatooine. We just hope the legal depts at LucasFilm and Activision will turn a blind eye!
Having seen many t-shirts grace the shelves of TruffleShuffle over the years, Junk Food definitely has to be my favourite brand. I originally fell in love with the soft figure hugging t-shirts, however – this romance has been kept alive due to Junk Foods ability to develop as a brand – offer more styles, more awesome designs – on different fabrics.
Recently moving house and downsizing gave me the opportunity to examine my wardrobe – asking my t-shirts random questions like; Have I worn you in the last year? Do you go with everything? Were you an impulse buy? I realised I couldn’t part with any of my Junk Food t-shirts as they all add something unique and quirky to my collection.
Junk Food are famous for their Super Hero collection and with designs like this – it’s clear why. I love this tee because it’s really fitted, such a nice colour for my summer wardrobe and features a quirky picture of my favourite super hero!
We have recently added some exciting new shapes – including this amazing design from Junk Food. I love this shape as it’s really feminine whilst showing my appreciation forStar Wars!
Another great style is this cute little Batman Vest which can be worn with pretty much anything 🙂
Introducing Junk Food Originals to my top 5 – I thought I would bring in the help of Minnie Mouse on this worn in slouchy V-neck. I love the authentic feel of these t-shirts and it makes me reminisce about my favourite childhood tees.
It seems I’m not alone in liking this lightweight pullover from Junk Food as celebrities such as Mollie King have been spotted wearing this cute little top. This is a must have for summer evenings, and goes with just about any look!
One of my favourite styles would be the Tri-blend range from Junk Food. This extremely cool design of Snoopy on a super soft t-shirt had to be included in my top 5.
Recently we have added some modern vamped up versions of Darth Vader and Star Wars, however this definitely has to be my favourite on the site at the moment. With a distressed print of Darth Vader showing some bling……I just had to buy this and do some customising!
Calling all Ford fans! If, like me – you like your t-shirts to look as retro as your car – definitely check out the Junk Food Original t-shirts. These t-shirts have a real thrift shop, lost and found again feel about them – a ‘must have’, if you like all things retro.
POW! Another favourite would definitely be this bright Batman t-shirt – moving away from the Traditional black and yellow design – this t-shirt is awesome for Summer days!
The last t-shirt to feature in my top 5 selection, would have to be the recently added Men’s Iron Man Heavy Metal T-Shirt . If you’re a fan of Iron Man and heavy metal, you can show your appreciation for both with the latest addition!
So there we have it, my top 10 favourite t-shirts. I hope you’ve enjoyed browsing the latest addition from this brand. We are constantly adding new designs to the site, so keep your eyes peeled for our new products! Is there a brand you would like to see more of? Let us know – we’re always keen to hear your thoughts!
Hi my name’s Simon and I’m a Chunkaholic. There I said it. Now, If you haven’t come across any of our men’s T-shirts from Chunk then you’re in for a right treat. I’ll start with a quick history lesson…
Chunk started back in 2001 having launched some designs all based on the Haynes Car Manuals iconic cover illustrations. Ten years on and Chunk is now one of the UK’s leading urban street-wear labels. Chunk’s ethos was, and still is, to produce great designs on quality garments, targeting 18-35 year old males with a strong emphasis on cool nostalgia. Famous for their bold graphics, tongue-in-cheek humour and unique design quirks, Chunk now has worked with some of the biggest licenses in the world, which include Marvel, Hanna Barbera, Fremantle Media (Danger Mouse) and Lucas Films (Star Wars) – for which Chunk won a licensing award in 2007 for its Star Wars range. The future promises to be incredibly bright for Chunk as the brand expands into even more retro goodness further cementing its reputation as a great British brand.
With TruffleShuffle.com offering a massive range of amazing retro t-shirts, gifts and accessories we get to see cool new stuff all the time. But for me nothing matches the excitement of a new Chunk catalogue turning up because I know it will be full of amazing new designs. It’s their ‘outside the box’ approach to designing a t-shirt that I love, generally taking a familiar character such as Darth Vader or Mr.T and putting them in an unusual situation, IT’S GENIUS. I could only wish that when I’m down at the coast for a cheeky weekend surf that I catch a Stormtrooper ‘out the back’ riding that perfect wave or driving past my local scrap yard would reveal that Mr.T, Luke and Bo Duke, Michael Knight and the Trotters famous ‘rides’ had reached the end of their lives (probably due to the government Scrappage scheme!!). Only t-shirts from Chunk make this happen.
Oh and keep your eyes peeled for more retro goodness coming soon from Chunk including the likes of more cheeky Star Wars designs (Darth Vader – who’s your daddy and Yoda – short may be I but your ass kick I will) and even more excitingly, a new collection inspired by that 90’s classic, Ren and Stimpy!!
