30 seconds of pure WANT - Classic 80s Toys Ads.

Remember the days before iPads and Playstations where you had to use your imagination a little or play the game with an actual person in the same room?? No nor me, but apparently they are now retro games and toys!! Whether it was the family favourite board game or your favourite sylvanian family it now seems far more friendly and sociable than shouting at a french 15 year old whose just crushed your kill ratio on Call of Duty. Get ready to hop back to the 1980s, because we’re revisiting some of the best 80s toy commercials. They may have only lasted an average of 30 seconds (Hard to believe, right?) and been packed with loads of imagery, a jingle and the usual fast-talking small print but they live on for years conjuring great memories of enthusiastically writing Christmas lists mid September! So get ready for a trip down memory lane as I show you my favourite toy commercials of the 1980s! So sit back, relax and get ready to remember what playtime was like before technology took over.

Teddy Ruxpin the storytelling bear was one of the most popular 1980s toys. Today, a toy like this would be able to recognize what kids said to him and respond and be completely programmed on some sort of chip. Back in the day, Teddy Ruxpin worked with a cassette tape but we all still thought he was the coolest thing in the world. Can you imagine a toy running on a cassette tape today?

Great Gifts For Men

It is getting to that time of the year when the search engines take a real bashing as people search for gift ideas for their friends and family. One of the most often searched terms is 'Gifts For Men' which led us to believe that many of you appear to struggle when it comes to buying gifts for men.

With that thought in mind we decided to make the process a lot simpler for you by pulling together a selection of our great men's gifts.

A great place to start your search is in the Gadgets section. Men get super excited about the simplest of gadgets so why not consider a Henry Hoover Desk Vacuum, a Star Wars Light Saber Torch, a Top Gear Iphone Case or the hugely retro Calculator Databank Watch:

What do you get if you cross Star Wars with Call of Duty?

Star Wars and Call of Duty fans will love this unofficial mod which turns your PC copy of Modern Warfare into an epic game of galactic battling. In development since 2009, it's called Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare, and is the product of a team of German coders called BlackMonkeys. Check out the video trailer below for a sneaky peek of what to expect....

As The Guardian reports, It's a total conversion so all the environments, weapons and characters have been re-skinned to fit within the Star Wars universe. Players can choose to become troopers in the Imperial Forces or soldiers of the Rebel Alliance, before scrapping it out over seven maps including Mos Eisley, Bespin and Jundland. Of course, as it's a mod, you'll need the PC version of CoD: Modern Warfare, but if you already own the game, you have little excuse not to download, install and start deathmatching on the deadly sands of Tatooine. We  just hope the legal depts at LucasFilm and Activision will turn a blind eye!

Anyone had a play yet?
