To get into the true spirit of Halloween, I have picked out my favourite spooky Halloween TShirts. For those who are not brave enough for full-on fancy dress, have no party to go to or are just too damn cool, these beauties which encompass the themes of horror, ghosts and ghouls and vampires are sure to get your juices flowing!
I got sent this picture on Facebook the other day as I was wasting away my Sunday with the hope of someone turning up at my door with a hot Roast dinner in hand to cure my hangover.
It made me laugh as it’s an awesome idea for a tattoo and in an absolutely perfect position but it got me thinking, just how far are my fellow tat fans prepared to go to show their love for their ultimate pop culture icons?
I didn’t have to look hard – appears there are a whole host of fellow nostalgia fans out there who will go pretty damn far in their quest to show their appreciation for all things old school. Here’s a few of my favourites.
This full sleeve is made up mostly of Nintendo characters with Megatron randomly chucked in (apparently he was there before the owner of said tattoo decided to go all out with a full sleeve.) Not being a Mario fan as a kid, I guess I always wanted Megatron to turn up at Bowsers castle and show Mario how you start a ruckus so this definitely floats my boat.
The awesomeness that is the Muppets band in tattoo form – the colours are awesome.
This guy must have totally crossed the streams to get this sick Leg tattoo inspired by the Ghostbusters movie. The detail is unreal.
This leg tattoo pays homage to one of my favourite 80’s movies, Labyrinth. I always thought I was a pretty major Labyrinth fan, now I just feel lame!
And it’s not just the boys getting in on the action..
Yes – this brave lady has just about the entire Alice in Wonderland story inked across the upper half of her body. Now that’s dedication!
It really does look like his skin has been torn off reveling his inner Superhero. A tat too far me thinks although maximum respect for having the balls to pay tribute to Spidey in such a dramatic way!
Let us know if this has got you emptying your bank account and booking in for a full body Spider-man costume tattoo, we’ll definitely want to hear about it.
This week we’ve just launched a brand new collection of Ghostbusters T-shirts from Fame and Fortune. Of course this got everyone in the office buzzing, but I was most excited of all cause designing these Tees was my first ever project for TruffleShuffle! Seeing the final results of my work is such a great feeling and it took me back to when I had just started working here as a designer. For me there couldn’t have been a more perfect starting point as I am a huge fan of the classic film, I remember that I couldn’t wait to get started!
The first step towards building a new collection of tees is to really research your subject, so luckily for me it was the perfect opportunity to spend an evening in and watch the film again for the 100th time, any excuse will do! I knew there were a number of bases I had to cover, everyone loves Stay Puft, Slimer is a definite and we really wanted to see the Ecto-1, but it was really useful (and fun) to see the film again as it refreshed my mind and reminded me of some really classic catchphrases and scenes. It was the best way to get me back in the Ghostbusting state of mind!
As well as the ultra popular “Who ya gonna call?” and “I ain’t afraid of no ghost” I loved the phrases “Don’t cross the streams” and “When the light is green the trap is clean” and was determined to get them included on one of the tees!
I also included the Ghostbusters Montage design to show our four heroes fighting against some of the monsters from the film as well as a special appearance from the ghost best know from the films main logo!
My favourite character from the film has to be Stay Puft and I really enjoyed showing two different sides of him in two of the designs. First up was the big, looming outline design with those angry eyes and evil smile but second is the sugary sweet and super cute Stay Puft marshmallows design. I love these two designs and will wear Stay Puft with pride, I might even choose which one to wear depending on my current mood that day!
All in all this has been such an enjoyable project and I’ve loved every minute of bringing the Ghostbusters crew back to our TruffleShuffle T-shirt selection. I hope you guys like the set and keep your eyes peeled for even more designs to be added soon, a sneak preview of which has been included in this blog post! Hopefully this will help to keep you Ghostbusters fans happy while rumours for a third film continue to circulate. Bring back Stay Puft I say…
If you’re anything like us then you’ll be eagerly waiting for the 42nd annual San Diego Comic Con to begin next weekend! For those not in the know, Comic Con is for anyone who’s really into comic book, films, TV shows, and anything else nerdy! It’s basically a huge gathering (over 120,000 strong so really, really HUGE!) of enthusiasts (generally dressed up as their favourite characters) all coming together to share their stories and trade their wares. The best bit is that you get to meet the creators, artists and stars of some of these amazing productions which is why it’s such a mecca!
Originally started by a group of comic book fans in the San Diego Area, the first convention was held in the basement of the U.S. Grant Hotel with an attendance of just 300 people. The convention has moved about throughout the years, going from the U.S. Grant Hotel to the University Of California At San Diego and finally to the San Diego Convention Center. In that time, it has grown to an attendance of over 100,000 people and has expanded to four days. It has now become the largest comic book convention in the world so it’s pretty special!
So are any of you lot going this year and if so – seeing as it’s pretty much obligatory to dress up, we figured we’d run down some of our favourite Fancy Dress Costumes to help get you sorted!

With a red velvet cape and gold detailing (including the star logo on the back,) the costume includes a velvet cape, full length elasticated waist tunic, foam belt, velvet collar and gloves in gold and red.
