The Weekly Retro Movie Rundown 57!

Yippikaiya! Weekend Time!

So in the dark and rough sub zero seas off the Gulf of Alaska, while waves crash against the bow of a  weather beaten fishing trawler let us be your sea hardened Captain as we navigate you to retro cinematic greatness, we'll cast our nets for mega movie awesomeness so we can catch tons of classic silver screen moments. SATURDAY 15th June

Ghostbusters (1984) 5* 3:25pm-5:30pm (2 hours 5 minutes)

Three eccentric scientists put their hi-tech gadgetry and knowledge of the paranormal to money-making use by setting up in business as  freelance ghost catchers. A musician calls them in to investigate when she sees strange creatures in her kitchen, only to end up  possessed. As the spook-hunting team members deal with an attempt to shut their operation down, they discover an evil demonic entity is  being summoned into existence and it falls to them to stop this creature from destroying the world. A military robot is struck by lightning and develops a mind of its own. The machine embarks on a series of comic misadventures, but the  company that made him want him back. He realises his only hope is to convince the scientist who invented him that he really is alive.  Sci-fi comedy adventure, starring Steve Guttenberg, Ally Sheedy and Fisher Stevens.

A former 10-pin bowling champion prodigy turns conman and hits the bottle when an accident leads to the loss of his hand. To revive his  flagging fortunes, he goes all out to persuade a gifted Amish man to take up the sport professionally so he can cash in on his prize- winnings. Comedy from the Farrelly brothers, starring Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, Vanessa Angel and Bill Murray

Batteries Not Included (1987) ITV London 4:35pm-6:35pm (2 hours )

A family of tiny alien spacecraft intervenes to help the residents of a run-down Manhattan brownstone tenement stop greedy developers from demolishing their homes. However, the miniature flying saucers have the odds stacked against them as they bravely do all they can to save the day. Sci-fi fantasy, starring Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn, Frank McRae and Elizabeth Pena

Mr Bean's Holiday (2007) ITV2 8:15pm-10:00pm (1 hour 45 minutes)

The bumbling fool wins first prize in the church raffle - a trip to France and a video camera. His travels cause chaos as he disrupts a film shoot in Cannes, to the fury of its megalomaniac director, and is then accused of kidnapping a youngster. Comedy, starring Rowan Atkinson, Willem Dafoe, Emma de Caunes and Max Baldry.

Escape to Victory (1981) ITV4 6:40pm-9:00pm (2 hours 20 minutes)

Allied PoWs take to the football field when a group of Nazi officers comes up with the idea to have them take on a German team for a  propaganda event. However, the prisoners see a chance to escape during the match. Second World War adventure, with Michael Caine,  Sylvester Stallone, Max von Sydow and Daniel Massey. Soccer legends also making appearances include Pele, Bobby Moore and Ossie Ardiles.

Wayne's World 2 (1993) Sky Movies Comedy 4:20pm-6:00pm (1 hour 40 minutes)

Heavy metal fanatics Wayne and Garth try to stage a giant Woodstock-style rock festival, with a little help from a spaced-out British  roadie and the ghost of Jim Morrison. But Wayne also has to stop his girlfriend leaving him for her slimy manager. Comedy sequel, starring  Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Ralph Brown, Kim Basinger, Tia Carrere and Christopher Walken.

Whoopboopalooba! It’s bonus movie clip time, something a little slimy to get you in the mood.
