Cannonball Run II (1984) ITV4 8:00pm-10:15pm (2 hours 15 minutes)

An assortment of daredevil motorists torments America's law enforcement officers while taking part in an illegal coast-to-coast race organised by an Arab sheik who is putting up the million-dollar prize money. Comedy sequel directed by the late Hal Needham, starring Burt Reynolds, Shirley MacLaine, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Telly Savalas and Frank Sinatra.

Two New York students travelling through Alabama think they have been arrested for shoplifting so admit their guilt - only to find they have in fact been charged with murder. Fortunately, one of the pair has a cousin who is a lawyer - but his ineptitude and inexperience could do more harm than good. Comedy, starring Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei and Ralph Macchio

American football quarterback Flash Gordon and journalist Dale Arden find themselves aboard a rocket ship designed by scientist Dr Zarkov, who intends to travel across space to locate the source of recent natural disasters. The three arrive on the planet Mongo, where they soon learn that the attacks are the responsibility of evil emperor Ming the Merciless, who is planning to destroy the Earth. Sci-fi comic-strip adventure, with Sam J Jones, Max von Sydow, Brian Blessed, Melody Anderson, Topol, Timothy Dalton, Ornella Muti, Peter Wyngarde and Mariangela Melato. Featuring music by Queen.

Brian De Palma's crime thriller, with Kevin Costner, Robert De Niro, Andy Garcia and Sean Connery, who won an Oscar for his performance

The seaside resort of Amity is terrorised once again by a man-eating great white shark. While police chief Brody struggles to alert the townsfolk to the magnitude of the danger, a group of teenagers - including Brody's two sons - is adrift at sea in waters hunted by the shark. Thriller sequel, starring Roy Scheider, Lorraine Gary and Murray Hamilton.
