What We Really, Really Want: The 90s Pop Classics T-Shirts Collection Lands At Number One!

The 90s. Back in a time when Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber were but mere specks in a distant corner of the universe and girl and boy bands rules our airwaves.

For us pop lovers, Sunday afternoons were spent crouched around the stereo to hear Mark Goodier announcing to the nation who would be number one on the UK Top 40 on Radio 1 and Fridays at 7:30pm were all about Top of the Pops (be there or be square!).

After watching Live and Kicking in your PJs on Saturday morning, you ventured into Woolworths in town with enough change to buy a CD single and a copy of that most essential fortnightly insight for all the gossip, lyrics and posters you could shake a stick at with a fresh new copy of Smash Hits. Bliss!

The 90s was totally full to bursting with pure pop magic thanks to iconic bands and solo stars with classic hits that had us getting on up and dancing as we slammed it to the left and shook it to the right.

Showing our love for these total legends of music, we’re bringing it all back with icons including the Spice Girls, Peter Andre, Steps, S Club 7 and Destiny’s Child that are lovingly captured on our poptastic new collection of 90s T-Shirts and Band T-Shirts!

Of course, no discussion of 90s pop music is made without the mention of two words: GIRL POWER! Biting cheekily back against the rising tide of boy bands ruling the airwaves, the Spice Girls stomped their way into the charts at number one in the summer of 1996 with their debut single “Wannabe”.

Girl Power White T-Shirt

Suddenly, everyone wanted to know who Ginger, Posh, Baby, Sporty and Scary were. They wanted to get with them and be their friends, and most importantly, to know what the hell a “zig-a-zig-ahh” was!

On our all-new distressed print Girl Power White T-Shirt, we’ve captured the 'Fab Five' at their iconic Spicy best on a Spice Girls T-Shirt that’s ideal to pop on whenever you find yourself in a situation where you ask “What Would the Spice Girls Do?”

Of course, the boys were still dominating and driving fans wild as well, as the success of Boyzone, then 911, Five and Westlife proved. But one man from Australia, with his curtained hair and chiselled pecs was a common sight on many bedroom walls in the 90s.

Mysterious Girl Natural T-Shirt

Peter Andre notched up three number ones in 1996 - the biggest of which by far was the lilting reggae-pop of “Mysterious Girl”. Our Mysterious Girl T-Shirt pays homage to Peter at the height of both his and the song’s incredible success that year.

Now, the charts of the 90s were full to bursting with novelty one-hit wonders, most of which were accompanied by a dance craze - “Saturday Night” or “Macarena”, anyone? And when Steps appeared line dancing into view in 1997 with “5,6,7,8”, they could so easily have joined the “Here Today, In The Bargain Bin Tomorrow” file.

5, 6, 7, 8 Light Blue T-Shirt

But Faye, H, Claire, Lee and Lisa, who their mentor Pete Waterman famously described as “ABBA on speed”, were made of solid, sparkly stuff, and with every new single, from “One For Sorrow” to “Tragedy”, came a new dance routine that was essential knowledge to learn for the school disco, that meant they went onto sell 22 million records worldwide.

Having not long celebrated their 25th anniversary with another number one album, our vintage style light blue 5, 6, 7, 8 Light Blue T-Shirt is inspired by that debut hit which started it all for them!

Back in 1999, what had fourteen legs, fourteen arms, seven heads and their own TV show? Of course - it was S Club 7! First appearing on screens in their hit CBBC series Miami 7 in the spring of that year, the show’s theme tune “Bring It All Back” quickly took them to the top of the charts here in the UK and around the world too.

Ain't No Party Grey T-Shirt

Rest assured, you’ll be reaching for the stars and all your dreams will come true with our awesome Ain’t No Party Vintage T-Shirt, with a cool print of our magnificent seven - Tina, Jon, Paul, Hannah, Bradley, Rachel and Jo - that’s perfect to don for when you next feel like having an S Club Party!

As the 90s strode towards the 21st century, girl power evolved with the mighty Destiny’s Child, as Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle empowered womenkind everywhere with songs promoting sisterly topics of self-sufficiency, strength, independence and femininity such as “Survivor” and “Say My Name”.
